OMFG!!!!!! That bass music….DAMN IT! Two of my oldest kids used to do that while thinking I wouldn’t feel or hear anything. How little they knew I could feel AND hear (hearing aids), they were in shock when I came storming upstairs to tell them to knock it off. Now my youngest son, 17 always has his friends over. His friends would turn up the music while my son kept telling them to turn it down right away before I’d show up. They didn’t believe him until they turned around and were shocked to see me standing there to tell them to knock it off or get out. LOL! I rarely wear my hearing aids in the house but I happen to have them on when I come home from the errands or work. Last night when I came home from work, I heard the screaming and stomping. I caught his friends running downstairs in the dark to go out of front door. I came running after them and glared at them. They looked and yelled, “UH OHHHH, KEEEIIIITHHHH, YOUR MOM IS HOME!” My kid came around and said innocently, “Hi, Mom…what’s up?” I told him to keep it down. I have no idea what they were up to outside. I guess it must be two girls who walked down the street from my house after I parked my car in back driveway. *shakes head* That’s teenagers to you guys.

Haha! I love that you said “bass” like the fish! I have been married to a Deaf man for 10 years and my hearing friends find it funny that I always move centerpieces from the middle of the table! Does that make me a “SODA” or “WODA?”

  6. Deaf Pixie Says:

Maybe we might related? My mom’s mom was last name Olsen. I am not quiet sure we are related.. What you come from ? My mom from North Dakota. I just want to know .. I doubt we are related.

Kelly, What is SODA? or WODA? ??I know Koda or CODA. Agree with you about Bass.. not fishing.. Loud music with a bass volume.

    Wink, Funny!

  7. Kelly Says:

SODA: Spouse of Deaf Adult or WODA: Wife of Deaf Adult? Maybe they will catch on!

Keep up the good work, gentlemen. I stopped following you for a bit, but now I am back in action. And things with you seem better than ever! And I could have sworn that big-earred, coked-out interpreter I met was a coda! thanks for the truth :-)

  9. Keri Says:

I can’t read your two posts after this one because it’s password protected. How do I get the password? Hope to hear from you soon, thanks! =D

  11. Ben Olson Says:

    Adrienne Goh,

Being blessed as a CODA- one of the many perks growing up, was definitely LOUD MUSIC!

You sure can use our videos to other CODA’s and KODA’s, no prob!

I hereby announce (though I think you might have abandoned this blog- temporarily?) my efforts to bring to you Gallaudet University! I just started this fall, and I know exactly what it’s missing. My undergrad had performers/comedians come every fall. Granted, it was for undergrads only and Drexel was a MUCH larger school, but I am gonna do my best!
PLEASE COME! I’ll find out who I need to contact to get this ball rolling. PLEASE COME! A nice little singing standup. Makes my mouth water.
